A Brief Family History

How we all got here...

James Allen Scott was born on September 2, 1841.  Mary Catherine Jeffery was born on August 20, 1843.  These two were united in marriage on September 29, 1859.  This union produced 11 children, of which 8 lived to adulthood.

John Alexander Woods was born on Dec. 4, 1847.  He married Olliff Elizabeth Melton, "Ollie",  on Dec. 14, 1873.  Ollie was born on June 29, 1856.

James Newton Scott (1871-1949) and Ruby Lillian Woods (1875-1952) were united in marriage on December 6th, 1894.  They moved to a small farm owned by Newt's father, near the head of Step Creek, known as the Womack Place.  The farm contained appx. 91 acres.  Newt later bought this place from his father, James Allen Scott (1841-1926).  This union produced eight children:  William Turney (Bill) Scott; Robert Coley Scott; John Allen Scott; Alexander Delbert Scott; James Elbert Scott; Laura Dee Scott; Brown Woods Scott; Newton Olliff Mary (Newty) Scott.
